Today is all about getting some perspective on what’s important to you.
Today is designed to give you some space to reflect on the last year and to consider what’s important to you in life.
According to Dr Matthew White of Exeter university, “a brief nature fix of just 10 minutes can begin to lower our stress levels. Connecting with nature can help us feel happier and more energised, with an increased sense of meaning and purpose, as well as making tasks seem more manageable.” Certainly my coaching clients report having a greater sense of perspective when they are outside. “What was a big issue seems somehow diminished in the fresh air.” H Evans, coachee.
Part of being happy and healthy comes from being able to live without tension and spend time on or with the things that are important to us. It creates a sense of fulfilment and achievement. But first we need to know what is important and then how to make sure we pay attention to it today is designed to help you define that.

Go for a walk
Connecting with Summer: Summer is a great time to take your clothes off! As the temperature rises, we begin to shed our layers. With longer, warmer days comes a sense of freedom and lightness. Nature invites us to walk barefoot on the grass, sit on a log for a picnic and paddle in the sea. So come on, take those shoes and socks off and feel the cool grass under your feet or the soft sand between your toes. If you’re feeling adventurous then perhaps the freedom and exhilaration of wild swimming (remember health & safety), allowing the water to re-invigorate you as you glide along.
Summer is a great time to connect with feeling energised and alive. So, take a walk (or swim!) and reflect on the last year.
What are you realising is important to you?
How can you get/keep/grow that?
What do you need to do?
Journal
After your walk, make sure you capture your reflections in your journal and answer the 3 questions above.
